A CLICHÉ TO SOME BUT JERRY CHAUKE BREATHES FRESH LIFE INTO THIS EXPRESSION.

Jerry Chauke is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Security Excellency Holdings (PTY) LTD. An unassuming man of few words but great actions, Mr Chauke takes responsibility throughout all areas of the business and acts with decisive boldness, which explains why he has fast tracked his own success.

Born and bred in the bustling township of Temba, Hammanskraal, Jerry received his security training and employment in 2002. He soon quick- stepped up the ranks of the security career ladder, thus mastering the industry rat race. With a few promotions under his belt, he stuck his fingers into various operational pies, gaining the vital skills and experience in the various divisions of the security business.

He attributes his success to always giving his best, being hands on in the service office and continuously learning. Mr Chauke has not only learned all that he knows from experience alone, but he is a graduate of the University of South Africa where he studied Risk Management and Human Resource Management, the main and critical elements of the security business.

A rival security company to his employer appeared to be making waves in the security industry in the manner in which they carried their brand, employee satisfaction and operational efficiency. This undoubtedly became an enviable prospect to Mr Chauke. He developed the desire to join the company and learn more from it. In 2005 he jumped ship and sought employment from the rival company.

The company, which at the time was known as Protea Security, lived up to its reputation. Mr Chauke gladly threw his lot with this company and rose up the cooperate ranking to the position of Area Manager. With the experience he had gained in the various areas of operations, it was time for his next move, a feat he would look back at with glee.

Having grown up in an area where unemployment was pandemic – and probably still is – his social conscience would not let him rest. He registered a company, ChauJerry Construction & Projects that would create employment for the restless youth in 2008. The soon to kick-off 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa was stirring an economic buzz for which Mr Chauke wanted to be in pole position.

By 2019, Jerry Chauke brought his attention back into focus. He pulled resources, skills and experience back into the security industry where he had always excelled. He registered, this launched him into an unstoppable trajectory of resounding success.

Security Excellency Holdings is a tribute to honour his grandfather and bolster his legacy with pride and dignity, from humble beginnings to respected businessman with a heart firmly planted in his community. Today his company has a national footprint of note that has made an indelible mark. From this company, Mr Chauke registered Security Excellency Academy where people who are interested in security services are trained.

Mr Chauke is not convinced that he has reached the pick of his business career despite owning a paid-up, enviable home as well as up market business premises and a fleet of vehicles. He gleefully says, “The best is yet to come”. At this rate of progression, the best is indeed yet to come for Jerry Chauke and Kangiso Juluka Security and Projects.
